Most of this bug content is from back in Janurary, the DSS code in tilt kernels has radically improved in this area since then. If we can't get any retest I'll close the bug as fixed.

After boot installed ubuntu-omap4-extras-multimedia. Then did a dist-upgrade on Jan 21. 20:45CET HDMI connected to a Yamaha RX-V1800 audio-video-receiver and from there to a 1080p plasma TV. The resulting screen resolution was only 720×576@50 and xbmc does not offer any further resolutions or refresh rates. The EDID sent by the Yamaha AVR includes many resolutions up to 1080p (verified with SwitchResX on a MacBook).
