After boot installed ubuntu-omap4-extras-multimedia. Then did a dist-upgrade on Jan 21. 20:45CET HDMI connected to a Yamaha RX-V1800 audio-video-receiver and from there to a 1080p plasma TV. The resulting screen resolution was only 720×576@50 and xbmc does not offer any further resolutions or refresh rates. The EDID sent by the Yamaha AVR includes many resolutions up to 1080p (verified with SwitchResX on a MacBook).
