I have sometimes joked with colleagues that we should collect funny or audacious excuses for missed tests, etc. and publish them in a humourous book aimed at academics. Particularly funny are the ones of the "I don't want to read anything I don't have to" variety -- the chapter would be called, "Don't Make Me Learn!"
