Applied Research Psychologist Applicants with strong quantitative skills are preferred with area of specialty open. The position involves teaching introductory psychology and undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialty. Examples of possible areas of specialty include, but are not limited to Tests and Measurement, Human Factors, Health Psychology, Program Evaluation, or Prevention. Developmental Psychologist Area of specialty should be related to child and or adolescent psychology. A cognitive developmentalist and/or developmental psychopathologist is preferred. The position involves teaching introductory psychology and our undergraduate and graduate developmental courses. A Doctoral degree in psychology is required for each position; ABD will be considered on a contingent contract basis. The successful candidates will have an appropriate doctoral degree and substantial experience and/or interest in teaching. A demonstration of teaching effectiveness will be required of candidates invited for an on-campus interview. A faculty member in our department is expected to be an available advisor to psychology majors, involve students in scholarly activity outside the classroom, and contribute substantial professional service to the department and university. Shippensburg University is one hour from the Pennsylvania state capitol complex in Harrisburg, and the Baltimore and Washington D. C. metropolitan areas are within a two hour drive. Our 17-member department takes pride in its excellent teaching reputation and serves 300 undergraduates and 20 graduate majors. We have our own micro-computer lab, animal research facilities, and video-taping, observation room areas. The department is within the College of Arts and Sciences. Salary/benefits are competitive.
