Good point. That's one of the major mysteries of life in Quebec. What 
the heck is it we're exhorted to remember? Perhaps we need collective 
recovered memory therapy (does it work for an entire province)? 

Of course, keeping in mind that it was the separatist Parti Quebecois 
that promulgated that enigmatic slogan (previously it was the insipid 
"La Belle Province"), the usual guess is that what we're supposed to 
dwell on are past injustices, lots of them, inflicted on "us" by 
"them" (can a licence plate slogan be paranoid?).

On the other hand, at least it's not "Live Free or Die", which sounds 
to me like an invitation to suicide bombing.
