Interestingly, during a discussion of Freud in my Intro. class, one of the students said of Freud, in a dismissive tone: "Didn't he use cocaine? Maybe that's where he came up with his wild ideas about sex!"
You might politely point out to the student that people had wild ideas about sex long before the discovery of cocaine. :-)
