Martin, I meant no slight.  I sought a clarification, but you answered the question.   Do I detect a potential bias of what the professor deems acceptable or unacceptable psychology.  If that’s the case, then there’s a subjectivism in the teaching of psych.  Of course, that’s true in any discipline as we select out what to present and determine what schools of thought we accept or reject. 

 

The example, however, you use in my field doesn’t wash since the short story is fictional prose and would be discussed in an English class..
