For some non-sexual fun (for those of you who find elucidation of statistical principles fun), you can find an almost infinite supply of bad examples of forecasting by regression by entering the phrase, "if current trends continue" into a Google search. I haven't even tried "if present trends continue" yet. Have fun and practice safe statistics.
