Title: RE: [tips] Re: Hearing ringtones (was:: 18-20 kHz and its marketability)

Tim,

You should be able to make the images for yourself with Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ . I rediscovered this freeware program in an article in the most recent issue of Teaching of Psychology.

Sue- I'd be very interested in that (for demo purposes). I can hear them all (but seriously, I'm 52- I must be hearing harmonics or distortion). :) Tim Shearon

Of these 3, I can't hear the 17KHz.wav nor the mosquito_sound_wave_feature, but I can hear the 20060610_Ringtone.  (See links in original message below.)

Why?  Because they differ in frequency.

The 17KHz.wav is indeed 17Khz.
The mosquito_sound_wave is 16Khz.
The 2006010_Ringtone is a mere 15Khz.

Btw, I have screen captures that show these frequencies for each sound if anyone's interested.
