We just want them to abstain until marriage, no? Then the
cross-culturally correct solution (she says, tongue firmly in cheek) is
to have child marriages! See

Michael-
Forgive my spekticism (also likely a capitalist trend lately!). What is
the evidence that abstinence works in other cultures? One way some
cultures deal with such problems is to simply and officially deny they
exist (not to mention stoning folk who are the victims- usually women)-
for example, starvation and cholera and have (in)famously and officially
been denied and under reported in areas where they are indeed present.
I'm not doubting you but asking for where I can find the data (given my
lack of cross-cultural dudeness). :)

As the Cross-cultural dude on Tips, abstibence policies work well in the

cultures of the Middle East,India and so on,so why shouldn't work in the

West. The issue seems to be the capitalist idea of romanticism:
                                                      first there is a
promise ring
                                                      then an engagement

ring
                                                       to be followed by
a
wedding ring
                                                        and then
suffering
