Moro reflex and the Myoclonic jerks

Hey gang:

No it's not a new alternative band.  It's an interesting question posed by a
student in my Child Psychology class.  I was describing the Moro or startle
reflex in newborns, and she asked me if this early life reflex had any
connection to that startling form of hypnogogia most of us experience at some
time in our drowsing lives.

Yes, no or kinda?
