That is the same time as Miguel's talk. What poor planning to have two
prominent TIPSters presenting at the same time. J

I hope that no one will object to my "promoting" my own upcoming EPA
talk.

"140 Years of Psychology Trying to Capitalize on Evolutionary Theory"
Sat, March 6. 9:00-10:20 am, Gleason Rm.

Abstract: It is often argued that evolutionary theory was effectively
banished from psychological thought during the 20th century. This paper
examines the early history of American psychology in order to
demonstrate that, far from being unwilling to incorporate Darwinian
insights, many of the most significant early American psychologists
attempted to found scientific psychology on an explicitly evolutionary
basis, and that their influence can be felt right through the
behaviorist era on up to the present day.

Hope to see some of you there!

Regards,

Hello Colleagues

I had prepared a session for the EPA meeting that will be taking place
March 4-7 in Brooklyn NY, however my departmental colleagues just backed
out on me last minute. My session descriptions is:

"CHAIR: ALBERT C. BRAMANTE (UNION COUNTY COLLEGE)
GIVING STUDENTS AN ACTIVE VOICE IN THE PSYCHOLOGY CLASSROOM
ALBERT C. BRAMANTE, (UNION COUNTY COLLEGE)

In today's collegiate environment, active learning is essential in the
classroom. This workshop will discuss providing a voice to the students
using active participation, journals, and the use of online discussion
forums."

I would like to invite other list-serv members to attend and be on the
panel to make this session a success. The talk is taking place Sat
March 6th at 8am in Salon A

Please contact me off list at albrama...@aol.com
