In my child psychology class I use to assign students a project involving an observation of three parent/child interactions--playing at the park, going on a walk, shopping, wherever. A few years ago I finally stopped giving this assignment as too often the parents would be on a cell phone while "with their child." Watch for this yourselves guys as it's an extremely common occurrence.
