I'm sure that it will only be a little while before a video clip from Lawrence O'Donnell's show "The Last Word" goes viral, showing what happens when a true believer is asked about President Obama's birth certificate which became publicly available today. What happens when those who believe, like those folks in the classic study by Leon Festinger, Henry Riecken, and Stanley Schachter "When Prophecy Fails", are confronted with evidence that their beliefs are false? Expect nonlinearity.
