The Department of Psychology at the University of Northern Iowa invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Cognitive/Experimental Psychology beginning August 2017. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and graduate instruction with teaching interests in cognitive psychology, and an active program of research capable of incorporating undergraduate and graduate students. Area of specialization within cognitive/experimental psychology is open. A Ph.D. is preferred, although ABDs with evidence of degree completion by August 2017 will be considered.
The Department of Psychology is located in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and consists of 14 tenured and tenure-track faculty members representing all major areas of psychology. The Department enrolls approximately 450 undergraduate students, contributes to the university-wide liberal arts core, and offers an M.A. degree program enrolling approximately 20 students with emphases in Clinical Science, Social Psychology, and Individualized Study. The Department is housed in newly renovated facilities that include individual lab space for all faculty, a psychoneuroendocrinology lab <http://www.uni.edu/csbs/psych/pnelab>, an eyetracking lab, a psychological assessment clinic, a dedicated computer lab, and multiple collaboration and seminar spaces.
