Once upon a time Sherri shaped the electrons to say... > HOWEVER: when I have a program scheduled to be recorded, it does not > record!! When I check my "Now Playing" list, and check "Recording > History", it tells me the program was not recorded because "Tuner > Unavailable".
But when you search for shows the data is there, and in LiveTV the Guide is populated, correct? It sounds like something is really wedged, possibly corrupted info on the drive. That message should really not come up - I think you might get it if you're watching Live TV and it asks to change the channel and you tell it it can't. >From the emails that have gone back and forth it sounds like you've tried restarting the TiVo. If you haven't, pull the plug, wait a few seconds, and then plug it in again. Give it a hard power cycle. If that fails to correct it, the next thing I would do is "Clear program information & To Do List". This will delete the program data from the unit, as well as some other things. Warning - I believe this will also delete the Season Passes, but I'm not positive. Then force a call home. This can clear some corruption issues since it blows away the DB and then reloads it. If that doesn't work, the next, and most drastic, step is "Clear & delete everything". That does as it says - you end up with a box that is basically factory fresh. No settings, no recordings, nothing - you have to start from Guided Setup from scratch. This is the deepest 'cleaning' you can give a box, aside from yanking the drive and reimaging it from scratch. If there are any recordings you want to keep, MRV or TTG them off the box before doing this. You can always call TiVo support as well, before trying these. But if they can't help, or if they just want you to send the box in, it can't hurt to give these a try before going through that. Since the tuner *is* working and it does record from live TV, it doesn't sound like a hardware problem. -MZ -- <URL:mailto:megazoneatmegazone.org> Gweep, Discordian, Author, Engineer, me.
