I was referring to the RF bypass, which I never use.  But I DO
habitually put all of my TiVos into StandBy, or Sleep as it was called
on some units.

There isn't a good reason, really, but I do it.  It does speed up
TiVoToGo transfers slightly, compared to doing them while the unit is
'on', but I don't do a lot of those.  It is just a force of habit, I
always put the unit into StandBy before powering down the A/V stack.

It does have the side-effect of turning off the front panel displays
on my DVR-810H and Series3, which I prefer.
