Well, I guess it's possible. I imagine Python's Unicode string handling library is influenced by the system's locale settings. However, I wouldn't like to speculate what the cause is right now, since I can't reproduce the problem!
By the way, what version of Python are you running?
Is there a possability to parse mails for such subjects before checking with tmda?
Perhaps. But, since I don't know what the problem is, I can't tell you what to parse for. Sorry!
In any case, I'd rather see a fix in TMDA than a "pre-filter" to work around TMDA issues.
