My legs used to itch so bad I would scratch them raw.  Now I get what I call a "nerve itch" on my back, usually in one spot.  It's so bad I've taken a long bread knife to scratch it.  lol

As far as the tingling/vibration stuff goes I do have that too.  My legs have a vibration feeling in them that's worse at night.  Or maybe I just don't notice it as much during the day.  The electric shock feeling hits me on my right side in my middle ribs area. I've had the electric shock there since I had the TM attack.  Then I had a drain tube inserted in that same spot in 2002 after my car wreck and that's has increased the shocks, especially when I'm having an exacerbation or I'm tired.

Hello everybody.  When "House" did that episode on the young man with TM, his first symptom was severe electric shocks, so bad that they knocked him over.  For my friend, the very first symptom she had was an itching under the skin.  When she would rub it, it would move somewhere else.  She said it was almost like ants under the skin sometimes, and it drove her crazy.  She saw several doctors, and nobody had a clue what it was.  It wasn't until her leg was almost paralyzed one morning when she woke up did they know it was more serious.  Did any of you have this itching under the skin?  Or what were your very first symptoms?

Have a good weekend -- I pray for you all everyday --
take care - Michelle

For me, I would call the tingling-vibration thing and the "electrical shock" thing different things.  I used to get the horrible shock feeling in my arms, sometimes in my feet.  I play the flute.  I couldn't play for a while after TM, but when I started practicing again and getting my strength back up, I would get the "electrical shocks"  shooting down my arms.  For me it was very painful. I can't stand it.  It only happens every once in a while now.    As for the tingling/vibrations, I still have that constantly in my feet and hands and sometimes everywhere.  It doesn't hurt, more annoying than anything else.  I've learned to live with it.  Now, for the pain, I wish I could learn to live with that.  It's so exhausting.   I take 100mg ultram twice a day, to cut the edge off.  That's the only thing that works for me.

I used to tell people that it was like holding on to a low voltage electric fence.  I once touched an electric fence as a kid.  Although the tingling/vibrations aren't as strong, that was the only way I could think of to explain it.  - Roger in Kennewick, WA

Pam,
The vibration feeling is like someone hit your spine and nerves all the way down with a tuning fork.  YOU FEEL IT EVERYWHERE.  Almost like a little electrical shock in a way.  I would feel it with every step I took and God forbid if someone patted me on the back...It was hard to smile.  It doesn't hurt but it's such a weird sensation.  Maybe not everyone gets that feeling?
