Hi Kevin -- please be sure that you get a few opinions before
you have CTS surgery. Make sure that's what it is. And if you decide
to go ahead, get a damn good surgeon. My neighbor had this surgery a few
years ago -- she was a seamstress, and at the age of about 60 it all caught up
to her. After the surgery her hands were so weak, so lost all grip
strength. She couldn't sew, couldn't put on makeup, couldn't even open a
bottle of pop, and was always coming over for me to open her pop for her. I
must say that she was diabetic, and that may have affected her healing --
and I don't know if she did any physiotheraphy. But just please be super
careful. CTS can be treated with splints and meds, I hope you saw a
specialist in this area to help you.
take care -- Michelle
