My wife's first attack was similar. Her
numbness started at her toes and slowly moved up to her waist and then it
stopped. She was never paralysed, however, was still able to walk
tho a bit wobbly. As the numbness diminished, she regained her
mobility.

Mine took about 3 hours, starting with one hand feeling like
I slept on it wrong, then numbness creeping up from my hand and then both feet
up to my lower torso.

Hi All,
There may be some truth to the "spinal cord infarction"
idea. I too, went from normal to paralyzed up to my armpits, in just
about a heartbeat.
Could anyone else feel the paralysis "creep" up from their toes
to wherever? It took about ten minutes from the onset to finish and
after that I remember nothing else until I woke up in the hospital.
Something I will never forget feeling.
