Jeanne, when I was the hospital I had a band around my waist like a steel
band. After some time out of the hospital and for
many years it has been a band of pain. No medication relieved it. It was
especially bad when i laid on my back.

I have memory loss along with cognitive dysfunction. It is better since I am
currently able to be on much lower doses of my meds. (I am not anti-meds and
will go back up when I must)The suggestion on group about doing crossword
puzzles, etc. is excellent. My neuro told me that years ago. It's good to
keep those brain cells working!I also have a really bad time with MS fatigue.
My neuro has given me Ritalin to help with that fatigue and it helps me focus
mentally.love you allSharon--Forwarded Message Attachment--Date: Thu, 4 Dec

Todd, those were the exact words I've used, also! The 'band' around my chest
is like a piece of metal being squeezed tighter and tighter. I do have to say
the new meds have really helped and the pain has decreased tremendously, thank
God!!

Darn I missed it. There was a program on Discovery Health several months ago (
I think it was called Mystery Diagnosis) that featured a women who could not
get out of bed. After many doctors and tests , they said it was TM, but this
woman sometime later had Devics.

Oh, Sharon, don't you just wish we all could find that one 'magic pill' that
would help all of us TM'ers instead of something different for every single one
of us??

[EMAIL PROTECTED]: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: [TMIC] Adjustable Ankle Stabilizer for
drop foot

I saw a friend that had a light brake in his ankle wearing a adjustable ankle
stabilizer that he got from Wal-Mart for about $12.

I got one, it can be warn on the left or right ankle.
It has really helped with my drop foot around the house.
I want to be able to where all night long ( I started at 4 pm ), but my foot
burned so bad that at 1 am, I had to take it off.

There is a smaller one that might be better with shoes for $8.

Has anyone else tried this & if so, how did it work for you?

Hope everyone is having a BETTER day,

Hi, Randy,

I've been taking Lyrica and Lexapro for quite awhile but just changed over to
Cymbalta from the Lexapro and added Tramadol for pain and I can't tell you how
much I've improved! I experimented with the timing on taking the Tramadol and
only take two a day. You can take 1-2 up to 4 times a day (800mg total) and
I'm only taking 1 in the AM and 1 at noon. The Cymbalta is an antidepressant
but also seems to help with pain so that is why we changed over to that from
the Lexapro.

Gosh, I sure wish it could help someone else...

Hi Patti,

Marieke and Heather are right. That was me on the Discovery Channel.
Recurrent LETM (Longitudinal Extensive Transverse Myelitis) is one of the
symptoms of Devic's. It's pretty wicked.

Randy,
Like Jeanne, I take Cymbalta and tramadol which does seem to help the pain. I
have yet to find anything to completely wipe out the pain only things that make
it "tolliable". I also wear a TENS machine on my back. I seem to have the
worst pain during the cold, too hot, and humidity above 70% - the barometric
pressure changes really do me in.
