Ok, I gotta admit that I was a bit skeptical of this week's episode when I
saw the preview last week. Muckman meets Jabba the Hut looked repugnant,
and how good could the plot be? Seemed they were finally making a show that
was definately aiming for the pre-teen male demographic...
but I was happy with this show! And dangit, I missed the first 8-ish
minutes :/ But from what I saw, Mike's quips, Raph's quips about Mike's
quips, Donny doin' his thing, and of course (my hero) Leo just bein' Leo. I
love how they work in real character interaction! It's _maaaybe_ a bit too
obvious at times that they want us to know that Don is into machines and
Raph is the hothead, etc. But what the hey, if it itnroduces new folks to
how the Turtles are, that works for me.
Mike's lines had me cracking up the whole time. "It's trenchcoat time!" (or
however the exact line went) really got me considering what was said on the
list last week about their street clothes. :D
And how about the fight scene of Leo & flashing swords vs. garbage man &
machine with the big moon in the background. :D I feel like a kid again
for enjoyin' this so much. But uh ... shouldn't these well-trained ninjas
be able to beat a simple robot? A clunky one, at that.
But my favourite scene was actually after the show -- the preview for next
week's ep! As the Mirage Leonardo & the Return to New York series are my
favourite of the books, I am DEFINATELY looking forward to next week. Darn
those 5 days between weekends!
