There's always the possibility of getting a real used, beat-up hockey mask 
if you know any hockey players, or you could check at a used sporting goods 
or thrift store. No idea what the cost of an 'ok-to-resell' mask would be...

I used a plastic Mardi Gras mask (full face) and some Crayola Model Magic 
for
the one I made last year, the straps were regular elastic bands. I dunno if
that's the best way to go. But that's how I pulled it off. I think it's a 
lot
more authentic looking than a halloween "axe-murderer" mask.
