Posting logs to the web prevents them from being archived by the list host and the likes of Gossamer Threads. Others with the same problem may be unable to access these log files in the future. I assume that these list archival sites will cope with compressed log files just fine. I'd imagine that 500kb of log files can bzip down to 10 or 20kb.
