thanks for response. I re-tested it and couldn't reproduce. finally I realized it's in another scenario that this issue appears painfully: login to remote server from ssh/telnet in pane, start vim from the remote machine resize pane naturelly the remote machines vim couldn't adjust the new screen width automatically... I guess it might not be related to tmux.
