The received headers will include the auth address and IP. Send an email to yourself, and you'll see (mailing lists strip out Received headers before passing a message on).


It should be possible to modify qmail-smtpd to only allow MAIL FROM to match the authenticated address, but that could cause problems for users who own an entire domain and wish to use various sender addresses (yet auth with the same username/password).
