Roberto, A few days ago, I went looking for Java for Debian when I was deciding which Linux port to use on a machine I was rebuilding. There is no Java from Sun that claims to run on it. The non-Sun compilers and libs for Java are available for Debian, but may not be complete. Their site has some info, but it didn't look very encouraging to me. I went back to Redhat.
