I've no idea how this impacts the version difference but it seems to be suggesting a setter field is getting the wrong type of value.
Were you able to narrow down to which line of the jsp was causing the error? Can't be much more help than that for now I'm afraid. tref ------------------------------------------------------ Tref Gare Development Consultant Areeba Level 19/114 William St, Melbourne VIC 3000 email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] phone: +61 3 9642 5553 fax: +61 3 9642 1335 website: http://www.areeba.com.au ------------------------------------------------------ "This email is intended only for the use of the individual or entity named above and contains information that is confidential. I saw a message someone posted to the list asking about this a few days ago and have been eagerly waiting to see the responses (haven't been any though), since I ran into the same problem when upgrading to Tomcat 4.1.12. To reiterate the problem, version 4.1.12 often gives this error message when trying to serving up JSPs, which work fine under version 4.0.x: javax.servlet.ServletException: (class: org/apache/jsp/pagename_jsp, method: _jspService signature: (Ljavax/servlet/http/HttpServletRequest;Ljavax/servlet/http/HttpServletR esponse;)V) Incompatible type for getting or setting field I figured it would be a quick and painless install/upgrade like they are most of the time with Tomcat, but I ended up bailing out and reverting back to 4.0.6 when I ran into this, since I didn't have the time to dig into it. Does anybody know what's going on or what can be done to fix the problem?
