That FAQ is for Apache 1.3 (see header at top of page). Mod_SSL is a part of Apache 2.
For Apache 2, you'll want to look here http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/ and here http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/ssl/ for documentation.
