It should work if you send a mail to

tomcat-user-unsubscribe-<address>@jakarta.apache.org

where <address> is your old address in the format:
user=domain 
(e.g.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -> foo.baz=bar.tld)

Have a look at the Return-Path of the mails that you 
receive from the tomcat list.
