Do you have any more information on why gcc 4 won't work, but older gcc
3.4.3 will work?
Take a look at the archives -- maybe it was opensolaris-code or
opensolaris-discuss, the question was posed awhile back why we can't
build ON with gcc yet, and the response was that not all of the patches
have been committed into gcc 4. The folks here should have a better
handle on what the current situation is...
