Aloha, I am finally back in Hawaii after almost a year being gone from the QTH and QRT. For those who did not know, my XYL of 46 years was receiving cancer treatment at MD Anderson in TX, and passed away Nov 23rd.
As soon as my papers and QSLs etc arrive in the mail that I forwarded to here, I will reply to all QSLs, I am sorry it has taken so long, I had thought I would be gone 30 days, not a year. And did not take cards along. Arriving home was a pleasant surprise to work VP8O for a new one, good signals and good operator, seems people were having a hard time hearing him as many were replied to but kept calling or never replied to his reports. Or kept calling on top of those he was working. This morning no joy, A92IO was decent signal into KH6 for almost an hour, but could not raise him. EU was shut out, heard nary a signal from EU. Antennas did not fare to well, 160 vertical still up but lost the top set of rope guys, hopefully it will hold for the rest of the season, have to drop the antenna to repair, also my other wires for HF are all down also, thanks to the UV and salt enviroment, it rots or eats up most things fast it seems. MY 80/40 vertical is also half down and will require complete rebuild. Gear is ok, but connections are dirty in almost everything, noise level was high, had to reseat connections, clean relays etc to get things working again. And that is in a room with no outside windows. The joy of salt air. Hope to see you all on the band again, thanks for your patience with QSLs. 73 Merv K9FD/KH6 ex KH7C _______________________________________________ UR RST IS ... ... ..9 QSB QSB - hw? BK
