G'day folks,

Despite many hours in front of the radio I failed to work anyone during the northern Summer Stew.

OK5WA was S5 just before my SR (2314z), surprisingly no response to my calls, it should have been easy at that strength! No other EU's heard before I had to QSY for a 160m News Broadcast commitment at 2300z.

A few All Asia contesters were heard during the night, all very weak.

After my SS (0919z), I heard K2AV, N4XD, W4NU and NO9E, all less than S2 on my phased Beverage's via a NCC-2, K2AV being a shade stronger and heard for longer than the others. I called all stations heard many times, but no response.

I guess poor propagation, northern summer QRN, local QRM, local callers and possibly directional Rx antennas, combined to make it a zero QSO event for me.

Propagation should be more favourable for inter-hemisphere QSO's during the Pre-Stew/LBJ.

Please point your Rx arrays down under occasionally, and don't discount the possibility of skewed paths, we are here!

73, Phil VK6GX, OF88.
