Hi Phil, Thanks for the report.
An after contest scan of RBN spots had showm two from a ZL I can't remember at the moment. I remember thinking that but for the monstrous QRN (as bad as any I have ever heard on 160 that were not from directly overhead) there had gone unused a wonderful propagation opportunity. I did manage to work PJ2/W4IPC, and QSB was taking him down into the QRN. I worked him the fourth or fifth time I heard him and but had to have repeats to get the grid. I knew he wasn't at WX3B this time and probably at PJ2T, no slouch of a station, normally 579 to S9+. That was my best DX. I only had 3 Q’s more than 4 points. Win some, lose some. 73, Guy K2AV On Tue, Jun 23, 2026 at 12:57 AM Phil Hartwell via Topband < [email protected]> wrote: > G'day folks, > > Despite many hours in front of the radio I failed to work anyone during > the northern Summer Stew. > > OK5WA was S5 just before my SR (2314z), surprisingly no response to my > calls, it should have been easy at that strength!
