OK, I followed the instructions there, but I see no observable change
in behavior.  I added the extension to the ini file and the
documentation says it should pick a credentials store automatically.
However, I was still prompted for username/password pair.

I thought the point of the GUI was to hide/minimize such chatter from me?

In general, thg feels like I have to go through more steps to achieve the
same operation than I would have to do in tsvn.  (No, I'm not counting
the push as part of the more steps; I understand the nature of
distributed vcs and why that extra step is there.)
