I hit this problem a while back and managed to update to 3.3.2 on Trusty reasonably simply. I 'solved' this by using a) the latest (3.3.2) hg releases package from the ppa, and b) tortoise sources. [The following instructions for building tortoise from source were got from https://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/thg/wiki/thg.] Clone the public repo and update the clone to the stable branch, you may need to update to an appropriate release from this repo if the latest one doesn't work with hg 3.3.2. Then put a soft link into your local bin directory:
hg clone https://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/thg -u stable ln -s path/to/thg /usr/local/bin There are dependencies on the tortoise sources: aptitude install python-qt4 aptitude install pyqt4-dev-tools LyX Document If 3.3.2 is good enough for you, I hope this helps. John
