The problem is not memory but CPU usage. There is no swap space, so if you run out of memory things would be killed and you'd more than likely have a forced reboot. So the speed of FLAC decoding is the problem, not the amount of memory in use. We more than likely need to look at some ARM assembler optimizations for the FLAC decoder.
