Not surprising. They seem to have had some lofty (or just plain goofy) aspirations for the Touch when it was on the drawing board. From running Squeezebox Server to controlling your sprinkler system and making pizza dough. Maybe the mic was going to be for using the Touch as an intercom or a baby monitor.
