It's true that I did not try other channels than 1 and 8. Life's too short. Thanks for the help, but I happen to know my way around wireless LANs... But, what was the most surprising to me was how the whole touch user experience became flaky. I don't understand how bad network connectivity can affect local music playing. Weird.
