Ive has a ReadyNAS NV+ before running SBS, two SB3s and one Boom. I used iPeng remote as well. The NV+ is comparable to the DUO performance wise. The NV+ does fine when only using the SBs to stream music. Once you ask a bit more, such as using the iPeng remote, things became quite slow. Also iPeng is quite slow on the NV+.
I decided to sell my NV+ and I bought an NVX instead. The difference is huge. Performance with the NVX is top notch. I can only suggest you to do the same: sell the DUO and get an x86 powered ReadyNAS.
