My understanding is that you will need to install the squeezebox Server
software on you NAS, or at least on some other device that can access
the NAS.  The tiny server in the Touch can only access through the USB
port as I understand it.  So you would have to have a USB drive to use
the internal server.
I installed the Squeezebox Server on my QNAP TS-110, and it is working
fine.  I followed the step by step instructions on the QNAP site for
installing the SSOTS and Squeezebox server.
The touch can use the external DAC, although the internal DAC in the
touch is very good, and can work with 24bit/96kHz files also.  You can
decide which you like better.
