Indeed, Magicians and con artists rely on it! It is also extremely stupid to trust other peoples faculties... The point you are missing is that - like the beer - just because you think it's better doesn't actually make it better in any absolute sense. It's simply that YOU believe it is better (nothing wrong with that - that's your opinion). BUT - one can't extrapolate that out to say other people also will find it better - or that other people are tasteless fools if they don't find it better. So, as you said, try it for yourself.
