Update on S24_3LE work: I have managed to get the compile system up and running for compiling jive_alsa. I made the change that I hoped would work, well it didn't, I just got loud noise (it startled my wife when this loud noise came pouring out of the lab). I found the problem, I needed to make some significant changes to the code, much more extensive than I had originally thought. Well that got rid of the noise, I now have music, but the sample rate is wrong, altos sound like tenors and tenors sound like basses. So some more work to do.
