That's a good router, but I'm not at all sure it's adequate for running
SBS. What kind of CPU does it have, and how much RAM? Unless it has at
least 800MHz CPU and 512MB RAM (not to mention a good way for
installing 3rd party software like SBS), you're not likely to be happy
with the performance. Btw, most of the negative reviews I've seen on
that router have been on the performance of the USB/NAS feature.

So unless the WNDR3400 has more juice than I think, I'd say you'll be
better off with running SBS off one of your PCs, or off a dedicated
mini-server arrangement such as Sheevaplug, Vortexbox Appliance, or
Atom-based pc. It doesn't have to be very powerful, just more powerful
than most routers or NASs.

For ripping programs, it depends a LOT on what operating system(s) your
computers are running. You're right to go with FLAC. If you have
Windows, then EAC is the best freeware ripping program, but in my mind
dBpoweramp is well worth the ~$36 purchase price. Both EAC and
dBpoweramp support secure ripping and verifying the rip via
AccurateRip, but where dBpoweramp really shines is its superior
metadata service. Especially with 1.5k CDs to rip, the time savings
you'll get from not having to edit tags so much will pay for the dBpa
license in no time. It has a 30-day free trial to check it out.

Whichever ripper you use, if you're on Windows then mp3tag is an
excellent freeware tagging program to do the inevitable tag editing
that will come up. If you're on Linux then you can run mp3tag under
Wine, or use puddletag, which is a freeware native Linux tagging
program that has features similar to mp3tag.
