Hello, I do not own a squeezebox and have a question I can't find an answer for from searching this forum. It's probably a pretty simple question, but I'm new to home theater and digital audio servers. Most of the questions regarding DACs seem to focus on upgrading to an aftermarket DAC to replace the internal DAC in the squeezebox, which is not my issue.
I have a new television that has a wifi connection (to use for Netflix, etc), but no analog audio output. I don't want to buy a digital audio receiver at the moment, and plan to only use two-channel audio for my music and television. Therefore, I am in need of some kind of DAC just to play the sound from my television through my stereo. My immediate question is, can I use the SBT as an external DAC sitting between my television and my stereo? The Squeezebox Touch would scratch some other itches I have for setting up a music server, and I'll probably get one sooner or later in any case, but I have a pressing need for a DAC.
