Can it be some isp related weirdness like that your lan is not really local ?
Maybe a difference between using the router as dns ( where it get dns from your isp ) vs using the isp servers directly in the clients. Does it matter if one have a lot mysb.com dependent apps directly in the main menu ? Was there a flickr screensaver you could use can imagine that thatbone could get grumpy ? Never sen this myself ?
