Hi all, first poster here. I hope someone can help me with a problem I'm having operating my Squeezebox Touch using SqueezeCommander on my Android phone.
I recently replaced my old WinXP desktop PC with a new Windows 7 one. I use this as a music server running LMS, as I did with the old PC. All worked fine with my old PC, but I'm having problems using SqueezeCommander with the new one. My Touch itself has no problems, communicating wirelessly with my router and via that with LMS on the PC. However, when I fire up SqueezeCommander when the Touch is switched off, it connects to my PC but fails to "see" my Touch on the network - I just get the "No player selected" message. If the Touch is switched on, SqueezeCommander sees it every time. Also, if the Touch has been on but then switched off, SqueezeCommander will continue to detect it for a while, then loses it again. It's as if the Touch somehow drops off the network after being switched off for a while. I have noticed that SqueezeCommander appears to build up a list of different "versions" of the PC in its server list, all with the same PC name but different IP addresses. I assume that this is because the PC/router IP address changes regularly? I'm afraid I know very little about networking. I feel that the problem must be with the new PC as this is the only component that has changed. I wondered about firewall issues (it's a McAfee one) but surely that would mean the connection would never succeed, rather than working intermittently. Any advice would be very much appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cass's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57121 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96293 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
