I have chosen to use a USB-stick for size and reliability, and also because it is completely silent (I actually have a powered WD drive of 320GB laying around, but it is used as back-up for my laptop); I just prefer it. In addition, I want to keep the classical stuff separate from non-classical, which is why I have experimented with an SD card. I could get a powered drive, but I don't really want to unless I have to.
