A 44.1/16 wave file has a bit rate of 1,411kbps. FLAC, of course, losslessly compresses that, usually reducing the file size to 40-60% of the original. So the bit rate you are quoting is par for the course and there is nothing at all to worry about. (The actual FLAC bitrate will vary throughout the file.)
